In 2023, I started birding near my home in Washington, D.C. and posting the lists to eBird. Birding sparked my interest in natural history, botany and entomology in particular.

This is a collection of my field notes as I try to learn to be a better observer. I’m not very experienced. If you aren’t either, you shouldn’t take my species identifications too seriously. If you’re more experienced, and have the time, I’d love to be corrected when I’m mistaken.
